How do I get to your Location?

Our address is, 530 Nepperhan Ave. Yonkers, NY 10701. We are located in a large brick building on the second floor. Ring the buzzer to be let in. It’s only a 5 minute cab ride from the Yonkers Metro-North Train Station. Check our hours and directions page for detailed driving directions. Metered parking is available across the street. Do I need an appointment to come to Beyond Costumes?

We do receive walk-in visits. Please make sure to call ahead to schedule an appointment if you need to sit and discuss your project with us.


What can I expect when I visit Beyond Costumes?

Expect to be floored by the expansive costume inventory and selection of rental costumes and props. We also offer retail costumes, accessories and theatrical makeup and wigs. Our staff is accommodating and can help guide you in your selection. We can also meet with you to organize costuming an entire production, event or party.

 

How do I prepare to rent a costume?
Having a concept or vision is a good place to start. Inspiration photos are always helpful. You may get more inspiration by looking at possibilities in our inventory. If you are pulling costumes for someone other than yourself please bring in their measurements. Measurements charts are available to download.( Measurement chart)

 

Is there a security Deposit
We take a copy of your photo ID and Credit Card that we keep in a locked safe file for security. Once costumes are returned in the same condition, we shred the information. (Link PDF) If you cannot provide your photo ID and credit card, we charge 4 times the given rental price as a deposit that will be refunded upon the safe and timely return of the costume.

 

What should I bring?

Bring a Photo ID and Credit card for all rentals. If you are pulling please bring your own measuring tape and measurements. If you will be trying costumes on for a fitting please bring proper undergarments.

 

Do I restock items I will not end up renting?
Yes, Please put all costumes back that you are not using, after making your selection. Our staff will be able to help point you in the right direction.

 

Are the Costumes Clean?

All costumes are cleaned upon being returned. All costumes are washed or dry-cleaned.

 

Can I take pictures of the costumes?
With Beyond Costumes’ permission, photos may be taken for sample purposes only.

 

How are your costumes sized?
Sizing varies. It’s always best to try costumes on or have measurements.

 

How do I put a costume on hold?

Individual customers will only be allowed to keep costumes on hold for 24 hrs.

If you are holding costumes for a show/production we need a photo ID and credit card on file, if costumes are held and not taken, there will be a $15 restocking fee for each costume.

 

Can I exchange or cancel a costumes reservation?
Yes, for a $35 restocking fee, plus any alteration fee, you can exchange or cancel a costume prior to the event. Shows/ productions can exchange costumes as needed, as long as it is before opening night.

 

How does pricing work?
Costume prices can range from $65-$300 and vary in quality, accessories and alterations. Let us know how much you are looking to spend and we will help guide you within your budget. We do give discounts for student and non-profit organizations.

 

How do I Pay?

You can pay by cash, check, or credit card. All rentals need a credit card on file unless you have an account.

 

What happens if a costume is damaged during my rental?

Depending on the severity of the damage we will determine the repair or replacement cost. We do understand that natural wear and tear occurs with costumes and some of the costumes are very old. If you have an issue with something damaged, please bring it to our attention beforehand and we will do our best to fix it. Please do not try and fix it yourself without discussing it with Beyond Costumes first.

 

Can I do alterations myself?

With permission from Beyond Costumes, hand sewn alterations can be made. No cutting, taping, dying, stapling, pinning, gluing, painting or any other stains that will cause damage by improper handling is allowed.

 

Do you provide an alteration service?
Yes we do. Larger productions need to give advanced notice. There will be an extra charge for emergency alterations.

 

Do you sell costumes?
Yes, we do have a retail section of packaged costumes, costume accessories and theatrical makeup and wigs. Please click on our HalloweenCostumes.com Banner to order package costumes to your home. We do not sell our rental stock.

 

Are you open to the general public? And, can I rent my Halloween costume?
Yes! We are open to the general public year round. Many people rent their Halloween costume to wear unique and quality pieces. We also have a retail section with a variety of packaged costumes and costume related accessories.

 

How Should I bring the costumes back?

Costumes must come back packed in the same way that they went out. Cleaning the costume isn’t necessary. All Costumes will be cleaned upon being returned.
